Audience Response to Initial Design and Final Design
Following the responses from my audience and their feedback on my second design, here is my finished magazine advert for Bliss and my media product.
Magazine Advert - Initial Designs and Changes to Digipak
Initial Advert Designs
Throughout the process of analysing current album posters, I had already chosen to use the band image from within the digipak as the main image to build my poster upon. Due to the dark pink colours of the image, I quickly decided it would be best to create an entirely pink poster, constructed of the two shades of pink following the three columns of the image. From this I then decided it would be best to constrain all information to different columns of the poster, with the band's name, "Bliss", written landscape across the top of the poster to indicate this is the name of the band to readers of Q and NME, this is then followed by a vertical title of the album, "Smooth", in order to clearly present this as the name of the album, not the name of the band. I believe it is also essential to include the name of the song used within the music video to once again promote the music video to fans and create cohesion between the poster and the video for those who have before seen the video. I have used this technique on the left side of the poster and described the song as a "hit single" in order to further promote the music video and the album itself as audience's will be tempted into purchasing the album in order to see if the rest of the album is similar to "Pink Lemonade".
I will make alterations to my initial design, which is yet to include band information such as tour dates, record labels and websites, after I have received feedback on my first design from my target audience. I will be doing this to make sure I am meeting the demands of my target audience of teenage fans of British indie music.
Here is my initial magazine advert design.
Changes to Digipak
Through the process of creating my album advert, I have found that my digipak album art is not in keeping with the rest of the bands image as the dark pinks of the poster heavily contrast with the dull grey beach image I had used. Due to this I decided to take two screen caps from production which have been used in Pink Lemonade as replacement front and back covers which I feel work more in cohesion with the video and poster in order to give the band a more well rounded overall image which appears more carefully thought about y the band in order to create the perfect British indie band. The new album cover is a screen cap of my hand featuring "bliss" tattooed on my own hand as well as small images I had planned to use on the back cover of the album, holding a skateboard, again reinforcing skate and rebellious culture which will appear desirable to teenage readers of NME and Q who often daydream of dropping out of school and leading similar lives to those ran by the members of Bliss.

Below lies the first draft of my music video "Pink Lemonade". I will present the video to members of my target audience as well as my media teacher in order to obtain critical responses to the video and suggestions on how to improve the video and ensure it lies within the indie genre in order to present that I have successfully identified my target audience through my media product.

Entering Post-production
Now I have acquired all the footage I need to complete the music video. I will now enter the postproduction stage of this process in order to edit and finalise my music video. Pink Lemonade will be edited using Final Cut Pro X, which I have previously used in my AS portfolio as well as out of schoolwork I have made. From my previous experience with the software I have also found that this is the best software available to me for combining footage with external sound files, such as a song, which I have done on numerous occasions.
