Digipak Breakdowns

In order to gain a further understanding of the construction of a digipak, I have decided to decipher three digipaks from two bands, Nirvana and Arctic Monkeys. Although I have looked at two albums from the same band, I believe that the vast difference in the features used on each album still enable me to acquire a in depth understanding on the codes and conventions of digipaks within this genre. The purpose of a digipak to to promote a band and their ideologies through their image as well as other images within the digipak; for my portfolio I intend to create a digipak which works in conjunction with my music video and other ancillary task in terms of presenting the band as a brand and their ideas. Through the analysis of these three albums, I have learned how convey a bands ideas and image through a digipak as well as how to successfully shape the band into a brand from my teenager target audience.

  1. Good evidence of planning is shown and the display and presentation of your data is excellent, however you still need to update posts and show evidence of successful adherence to deadlines and good time management skills.

  2. The prezi deconstructions of digipaks are good - don't forget to consider the actual mechanical format of a digipak - what makes it a digipak specifically? Also, I agree with Zoran's comment above - did you complete it all as scheduled?
